Trip Overview
This once in lifetime safari experience through Tanzania will take you to the top of the highest mountain on African continent in Mountain Kilimanjaro. Reaching the top of this magnificent mountain and back will take you 6 days including the return journey via marangu route. Note that Marangu route/ coca cola route is the only route with permanent residences on Kilimanjaro mountain. After the accomplishment of this experience, you will continue with your exploration by heading to the southern circuit of Tanzania for wildlife excursion as you visiting all the famous parks of this route.
You will start with a visit to less famous but magnificent Tarangire national park known for its huge elephant concentration, before heading to Ngorongoro conservation area where you will be visiting the great Ngorongoro crater, the biggest caldera in the world- a home to all the big five of Africa that you can encounter in less than a day. You will continue your journey to the vast Serengeti national park- Famously known for its participation in the great migration of wildebeest which starts at Ndutu area of southern Serengeti at the start of the year with newborns and end with the famous Mara river crossing of wildebeest between June and October. You will end this experience with your flight to Zanzibar either from Seronera or Kogatende airstrip depending on the season of you safari travel.
Detailed Itinerary
KILIMANJARO TREKKING PORTION
Day 1 :ARRIVE KILIMANJARO INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (JRO)
You will be picked up at the Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to Moshi. you will meet with your mountain guide, he will brief you on your upcoming schedule for trekking and do an equipment check to make sure you have all the necessary mountain gear. Day 2: MARANGU GATE (1860M) TO MANDARA HUT (2700M)
After breakfast, you will be proceed to Marangu gate. Once the necessary paper work has been completed, your trek can begin and you will soon be hiking through the dense rainforest. Alongside the impressive vegetation, you will have the chance to catch a glimpse of some primates as you head to the Mandara Hut. After a well-earned rest, your guide can take you to the Maundi Crater where you can enjoy the wonderful view of the Kenyan interior.

Day 3:MANDARA HUT (2700M) TO HOROMBO HUT (3700M)
The day begins with an early breakfast. Shortly after you have left Mandara Hut, you will reach the timberline and then enter the heath and moor zone. Approximately 4 – 6 hours later, the Horombo Hut will come into sight, standing at an altitude of 3700m. From the hut, you will have fantastic views overlooking Mawenzi, Kibo and the wide plain of the Masai steppe.

Day 4: ACCLIMATIZATION TREK TO ZEBRA ROCKS (4020M) THEN BACK TO HOROMBO HUT (3700M)
Horombo Hut Today serves as an acclimatization day. This should not be underestimated and greatly improves your chance of success in reaching the summit. After a relaxing breakfast, a 4 hour trek follows to the Zebra Rocks (4020m). The distinctive black and white stripes give the rock formation its name. On your return to Horombo Hut, a warm lunch will be waiting for you. You can relax in the afternoon and regain your strength for the hike the following day.

Day 5 :HOROMBO HUT (3700M) TO KIBO HUT (4700M)
Today’s stage is long and tough. The well-built trail passes the “Last Water point” which is followed by the so-called “saddle”. This nearly vegetation less plateau joins the main summit Kibo with Mawenzi. Today’s destination is the Kibo Hut that is usually reached in about 5 – 6 hours. Here, you will enjoy an early evening meal followed by an early night, as the night will be short.

Day 6: KIBO HUT (4700M) TO UHURU PEAK (5895M) & DOWN TO HOROMBO HUT (3700M)
Very early in the morning (midnight to 2am), commence the climb to the summit on steep and heavy scree or snow up to Gilman’s Point located on the crater rim (elev 5700m/18,700ft). Continuing, we now ascend to Uhuru Peak, which is the highest point in Africa. There are unbelievable views at every turn. From here we descend, stopping for lunch and a rest at Kibo before continuing on to the Horombo encampment.

Day 7: HOROMBO HUTS (3,690 M/12,100 FT) TO MARANGU GATE TO ARUSHA
After breakfast and refreshing; descend through the moorland to the Mandara Huts. Have lunch there then continue your triumphant recessional down through lush forest to the park gate, which you should reach around 1pm or 2:30 pm. TANZANIA NORTHERN CIRCUIT SAFARI PORTION
Day 8: Tarangire national park
After an early breakfast, drive to Tarangire National Park. Enter the park and begin your morning game drive. Tarangire is known for its huge elephant herds, ancient baobab trees, and diverse wildlife including lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, and over 500 bird species. Enjoy a picnic lunch at a scenic site overlooking the Tarangire River — a perfect spot to watch animals coming to drink. Continue your game drive through different parts of the park. Day 9: Departure to Ngorongoro with Game Drive
After breakfast, drive to Ngorongoro Crater, Upon arrival at Ngorongoro, head straight into the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive. Day 10: Transfer to Serengeti national park

Day 12: Drive to Northern Serengeti
